Consultation on the root causes of displacement: Extortion

This session will have three segments:
1) Presentation of the extortion problem in Central America, using trends identified through the work of the Global Initiative against Organized Transactional Crime in the region and highlighting effective responses at the national level.
2) Presentation of responses told through organizations working closely with victims, allowing for responses that offer lessons learned and potential for replicability.
3) Facilitated discussion of the problem and identification of short and medium-term community actions that could mitigate the impact of extortion.
