In 2025, under the Pro-Tempore Presidency of Costa Rica and Colombia’s Presidency of the Support Platform, the MIRPS is advancing the implementation of its Regional Action Plan and the Platform’s Strategy. Both documents set priorities to strengthen protection systems and expand solutions to forced displacement in Central America and Mexico, in line with the 2024–2034 Chile Declaration and Plan of Action.

The meeting aims to update MIRPS States and Support Platform members on progress made toward the pledges adopted at the Second Global Refugee Forum, as well as to identify gaps, next steps, and new opportunities for technical and financial collaboration.
