Refugee and asylum-seeking children have the right to both international protection and specific rights as children; these two sets of rights are complementary and mutually reinforcing.<\/p>\n

As such, MIRPS States are working on the adaptation of their refugee status determination procedures to children\u2019s rights, considering their diverse experiences, backgrounds, and specific vulnerabilities and capacities.<\/p>\n

In 2024, a series of sessions are organized with MIRPS teams, to provide practical guidance on the implementation of child-friendly and age- and gender-appropriate protection procedures. By the end of the year, MIRPS states will present a document on recommendations, which will guide its systematic implementation at national levels.\u00a0<\/p>\n
