This session will have three segments:<\/p>\n

1) Presentation of the extortion problem in Central America, using trends identified through the work of the Global Initiative against Organized Transactional Crime<\/a> in the region and highlighting effective responses at the national level.<\/p>\n

2) Presentation of responses told through organizations working closely with victims, allowing for responses that offer lessons learned and potential for replicability.<\/p>\n

3) Facilitated discussion of the problem and identification of short and medium-term community actions that could mitigate the impact of extortion.<\/p>\n
